From the Editor

The usual multifarious collection of news, information, stories and snippets to take you into Autumn. Olivia Stewart-Liberty is planning a book about her ancestor Arthur Lasenby Liberty and is seeking information about him. Mike Barden has given us a delightful account of the wedding of his daughter Marika; it did take place some months ago but we waited for photos to come through as we thought readers would like to see the scout bus in this unusual incarnation.
We have our regulars – Chris Syer has been out walking again and Stargazer has been, well, stargazing. We are fortunate in having such enthusiasts in our midst who are willing to share their interests with us.
Indeed there will be a great deal going on in our villages during the Autumn, as the various notices and articles show. One of the delights of living here is the thriving community spirit from which we all benefit in different ways. Many people work so hard to organise them, and the rest of us must give them our whole-hearted support as often as we can.
And there is a heartfelt piece by Chris Ruttle about certain armchair farmers (none of whom, I am certain, are readers of this newsletter) who have been giving him such valuable help and advice……
