cream tea Summer Sunday cream teas at The Lee Old Church
By Charlotte  Reynolds

Tea at The Lee – from Sunday 3rd June.
Summer is upon us which can only mean one thing, it’s time for The Old Church cream teas to waylay us all on a Sunday afternoon. What could be better than a drowsy Sunday afternoon spent reading the papers, meeting with friends or rounding off a walk or ride with a perfect, refreshing cup of tea and slice of delicious home baked cake or a delectable and proper cream tea. As the advert says, you’re worth it! Find us on Sundays throughout June, July and August, from 3 pm – 5 pm in the grounds and surrounds of The Lee Old Church, which is up along the path behind our Parish Church of St John The Baptist.

All of the money raised goes towards the upkeep of the church (last year we raised almost £2,000), so sharpen your appetites, invite your friends and family, tell the neighbours, bring the children and come on down, for tea is served.

Of course if you just can’t resist the urge to bake a scone or make a cake please do get in touch. We are desperately short of helpers and team leaders, so if you feel that you could help on any Sunday in any part of setting up, serving the teas, working the till, washing up or donating some home baking we would love to hear from you.

Contact Charlotte Reynolds on 01494 793221.
Please note that all the tea, coffee and sugar served throughout the summer will be Fairtrade.
