After five years the Editorial Team has decided to take the Newsletter in a slightly different direction. In its heyday The Times was of course known as The Thunderer for its robust stance on the major issues of the day and we have decided it is time to do a bit of thundering of our own by identifying local problems – such as potholes, flytipping, refuse collection and other activities (or lack of them) which would justify a crusade. We ask you to provide the evidence to enable us to build a campaign. The results can then be used to put pressure on the movers and shakers of the County and District Councils – who knows, we might even succeed in getting something done! Inside you will find what’s been chosen as our inaugural theme. Elsewhere I make no apology for various references to the shop; it’s already generating considerable support but it can never have too many customers – or workers. We are approaching the fun season: fêtes, flower shows, barbecues, cricket matches, all sorts of activities to add the pleasure of living here! Full details within. All copy for next month to me please by 12th June. |
