fete 2006 Cometh the hour, cometh the Fête
By Catherine Larmour

The Lee Church Fête is rushing up towards us with almost indecent haste – can it really be June already? Well, it is. And if you are not there on the Green between 2 o’clock and 5 on the 16th, then you will be missing out on this marvellous afternoon of delights.

There will be the popular old faithfuls like the maypole dancing, tombolas (one for the grown-ups, one for the children), plants, cakes, books, pony rides, bric-a-brac, bouncy castle and, of course, the splendid raffle. Teas will be served to the parched and peckish at The Old Church; Pimms and ice-creams should keep even the most demanding attendees happy on the Green. This is not to mention the fun there is to be had trying your hand at the large variety of games. All this, and England in midsummer… what more could you possibly want?

To refresh your memory, here’s that vital list of stall contacts again – do please dig deep and find us lots of goodies to sell:
  • Plants: Mary Stewart-Liberty (837341).
  • Raffle prizes/tickets: Tim Hart (837328).
  • Cakes/jams/produce: Catherine Larmour (837309).
  • Cakes for teas: Ros Morris (864528).
  • Bric-a-brac (no rubbish please!): Reina Free (837407).
  • Tombola prizes: Paul Woodhouse (837555) or Alison Weir (837529).
  • Toys/books: Jo and Steve Wall (837721).
  • Children’s tombola: Charlotte Reynolds (793221).
Thanks very much. See you on the 16th June!
