From the Editor It is very gratifying for the editors each month to know that there is such a wealth of enthusiastic contributors in our parish, as you will see once again in this Newsletter. Long gone are the days when all the articles were written by the editorial team using false names. Keep it coming! If we don’t have space one month we will always try to publish your article the following month. Liz Stewart-Liberty has provided a fascinating and detailed history of the Admiral at Pipers which will answer a lot of questions that we have probably all asked ourselves as we pass it daily. If anyone has any additional information, do please let us know. Allan Whittow has provided a thought-provoking article ‘Islam in our Parish Hall’ which may also produce some responses. I make no apology for mentioning the shop, which is moving into its most exciting phase under Barnaby Usborne’s excellent leadership, following an exciting meeting last month. But we all need to try and protect our environment, this time against the invasion of the NATS, so make sure you lodge your protests, the time for which has been extended to the 19th June. See page 20 for further details. Next month’s editor will be Viv Robins who can be contacted by email: viv.robins@tinyworld.co.uk or on 837278: by Thursday 12th June please. |
