As the season progresses, our Colts teams are continuing to do well, the weather notwithstanding. The enthusiasm of the youngsters is ample reward for all those coaches and managers who devote so much time and energy to them. The U14 players went up to Lords to watch an exciting 20/20 match in mid-June.

The raffle of cricketing paraphernalia donated by Andrew Strauss was a fantastic success, evidenced by the groans of despair coming from the Colts who were unsuccessful. £500 was raised for the club and Andrew Strauss went on to score a century for England the day after the raffle; a just reward for his generosity.

We have received a number of very generous donations from our friends and supporters in the village, and these have helped with the purchase of our mobile nets and bowling machine. What better way to celebrate the ‘Longest Day’ on 21st June than to have an opening ceremony? Our President, Mrs Stewart-Liberty, and Councillor Tricia Birchley are to do the honours.

Stop Press: U12s win their league in nail-biting finish on 18th June.
