Our Nativity play went well, with about 50 parents in the audience. The children behaved really well although their voices could have been louder when singing and reciting their lines — I know their voices can be a lot louder and usually are.
The parents’ committee had organised a raffle of three food hampers and vouchers, money raised to go to the outdoor area fund (we hope to get permission to erect a shelter and tidy up at the back of the hall).
The children enjoyed a party on the last day with games, fun and magic. Our Father Christmas couldn’t come because of the snow that came down really quickly that morning but thanks to a kind offer of a replacement the children were not disappointed.
We had our Ofsted inspection three weeks before Christmas and were very pleased with the outcome. The four categories that Ofsted use are Outstanding, Good, Satisfactory and Inadequate. We achieved an overall ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ for “the extent to which children achieve and enjoy their learning” and “the effectiveness of partnerships”. The inspector verbally said it was the best we could achieve with the restrictions of a Parish Hall.
