Clerk’s corner
By Christine Thomas, Clerk to The Lee Parish Council

Following Viv Robins’s article in last month’s Newsletter about the availability of a half plot on the Oxford Street allotments, I had a number of enquiries and have now filled the vacancy. This has prompted the Parish Council to consider having a waiting list for allotments so, if you would like me to contact you when another plot becomes available, please e-mail me your name at thelee.clerk@btinternet.com.

We are also looking at producing a more accurate plan of the allotments and of releasing more land, although that will require a bit more investigation. Watch this space!

The Annual Parish Meeting will be at 7:30 pm on Tuesday 17th May in the Parish Hall, so please put it in your diary. It would also be helpful if you could e-mail me at thelee.clerk@btinternet.com if you wish to attend so we can get some idea of numbers. Notice of the meeting will be posted on the parish notice boards nearer the time.

Fancy being a Councillor? Parish Council elections are taking place on 5th May and details are posted on the parish notice boards. Closing date for nominations is noon on 4th April. If you are interested in standing, please contact either myself on thelee.clerk@btinternet.com or the chairman, John Ford, on john.ford35@btinternet.com or give me a call on 837400.

Barnaby Usborne is sadly resigning from the Parish Council after 16 years and he will be greatly missed by the council for his great knowledge both about the area in general and planning in particular.
