fete The-Lee Church Fête 2011
By Catherine Larmour

Spring appears to have officially sprung, which means that the Church Fête cannot be far off. It’s never too early to start putting aside all the books/plants/toys and bric-a-brac you think people would like to buy on the day – full details of who to hand them over to in next month’s Newsletter.

New for 2011, we’ve got a stall selling accessories and will be pleased to accept your donations of scarves, hats, bags and belts (please contact Bette Brumpton on 837246).

We anticipate another cracking tug-o-war competition and hope that the local pubs will be able to get their gladiators assembled and in peak condition for the day.

This year, we’re looking for team-leaders for each stall, who will ideally arrange a team to set up on the day/ run/ clear up their stall after the fête. This shouldn’t be as daunting as it sounds, as there is now a very large pool of helpers who are old hands at the fête!

If you would like to get involved (and the committee haven’t already got your number), we’d be really pleased to hear from you. You can call Catherine on 837309, Pam on 862765 or Rachel on 837557 for more information.

Next month, you’ll be told what delights lie in store on the Green on 18th June...
