school Lee Common School News
By Arabella Norton

The children celebrated the Royal Wedding at the start of term by coming to school dressed in something red, white and blue. The LCSA also put on a royal wedding breakfast which was certainly fit for a king.

A week later we had our own regal event with the crowning of this year’s May Queen, Catherine Franks, at the Annual Maypole Dancing Celebration. The Master of Ceremonies was Jamie Kinsella. Both the May Queen and Master of Ceremonies performed their duties admirably. The children all danced fantastically well and thanks must go to Mrs Dean for voluntarily coming into school to teach the children the dance routines. Thanks too for everyone who came to support us at this event. It was a wonderful village occasion.

The following week the children had their annual school outing and they went to Whipsnade Zoo. They greatly enjoyed seeing all the different animals there and everyone had a wonderful time. Special thanks must go to Mrs Barton for organising this.

The drama group ‘Perform for Schools’ has been in to give a performance of ‘Outer Space’ which was very enjoyable. The children have also benefited from the Travelling Book fair which gives them the opportunity to buy books at the school.
