You probably don’t need me to remind you that 29th July is the last day for you to respond to the consultation on the HS2 proposals – indeed there are several other reminders in this Newsletter. However it appears that not everyone is up to speed on this topic. Some friends of ours from Sussex, who we thought we had bored to death with HS2, visited us recently and noticed all the signs in the Chilterns: “Say no to HS2”, “No HS2 here”, “HS2 ends here!” They were perplexed and when they arrived, commented that they hadn’t realised we were having such a problem in The Lee with Hydrogen Sulphide – the shame of it is that they were serious!
On Saturday 2nd July there will be another information morning at The Lee Parish Hall (9:00 am – 1:00 pm), so there is no reason for you not to be fully informed. There will also be a stand on HS2 at the Flower Show on 16th July.
A copy of the Consultation Response form is available by email or in hard copy from your local HS2 co-ordinator, as are guidance notes for completing the form. If you don’t know who your local HS2 co-ordinator is, then contact Tim Hart on 837328.
Appealing to an audience
Meanwhile, local man Tony Brignull, a leading figure in the advertising world, has been designing an advertisement for HS2actionalliance (see attached). Designed to influence politicians and other opinion-formers, it has appeared in the Parliamentary Gazette and will be in the Spectator.
If you get to the end of this article and still haven’t responded yet to the consultation… stop reading… put the Newsletter down… and go and do it.
This Newsletter will still be here in August, the consultation period will not!
