The Lee WI met at the Parish Hall on the 11th June. We were told of county outings, varying from willow-weaving to golf and to a visit to Gloucestershire. There is also to be an Art Day in September, with a talk on van Gogh.
June Pearce told us how pleasant and successful the ploughman's lunch had been.
We then had a most interesting talk by Tony Hawkins – “Seeing it my way”. He went blind in his early fifties, but told us how he had tackled the problem with the aid of guide dogs. It was a heart-warming talk.
Tea and cakes concluded our afternoon.
