newlsettersFrom the Editor
By Peter Archer

There can be few, if any, occasions in the life of the Newsletter when the serenity of life in The Lee and the neighbouring villages is in such sharp contrast to the troubles elsewhere in the world.

We just need to reflect on the Ukraine, the Middle East, the future of the EU and, closer to home, the forthcoming General Election and its uncertain outcome.

Here, of course, we still have the threat of HS2 hanging over everyone and Simon Morris again brings us his excellent review of the current state of play, together this month with Nick Rose’s update on work by Chiltern District Council and others.

With spring now just around the corner, we have much to look forward to. Apart from the annual Flower Show and Church Fête there is also the possibility of a cycle ride to Fromelles next year. Keen cyclists better start training now!

The next issue of the Newsletter will be for April, for which the Editor will be Viv Robins. Please send material to her, preferably by email at theleenewsletter@googlemail.com or hard copy to Crocketts, Lee Common.

The deadline is 12th March.
